Volunteers Needed for Plainfield Public School’s Saturday Academy
A FREE Academic Enrichment Program
Open to Children, Families, and the Plainfield Community
Volunteers are needed to participate in Plainfield Public Schools’ Saturday Academy for the 2017-2018 school year; beginning Saturday, September 16, 2017.
The Saturday Academy is in its third year of operation thanks to the assistance of volunteers from the Plainfield community donating their time and expertise, Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon.
Volunteers are welcome to share with and instruct young audiences and their families on subjects and skills they are most comfortable teaching. The Saturday Academy offers classes in Art, Computer Skills, Dance, Math Concepts, Modern Families, Martial Arts Concepts and Discipline, Nutrition, Conversational Spanish, and Zumba.
Currently there’s a need for dance, literacy and art volunteers. If you are interested in community service and willing to spend one or two hours on Saturdays – September 16 through December 15, 2017, or February 6 through May 10, 2018; please contact Gloria Montealegre – Community Engagement Liaison for Plainfield Public Schools at 908-731-4333.
The program is free and open to all Plainfield residents.
Letters and certificates are presented to all volunteers during graduation ceremonies in May 2018.
