Dear friends and area resident,
Please be advised that there are two important hearings coming up in the next weeks concerning Muhlenberg.
1. Friday, October 27, 2017 at 9 AM, Judge Katherine Dupuis chambers, Union County Courthouse, General Equity Part, New Annex Building 1st floor.
Docket no. UNN-C-118-17. This proceeding is a cypres proceeding concerning certain trust funds held by PNC Bank for the benefit of MRMC or the MRMC sponsored School of Nursing.
The trusts in question are: the Grace N. Pond and Harry H. Pond Trust, The Walter Lester Glenney Trust, the Joseph L.K. Snyder Trust, and the Peter J. Zeglio Trust to Muhlenberg Hospital. Also, the Eugene Malcolm Palmer Trust which Mr. Palmer designated to be used for the MRMC sponsored School of Nursing.
A number of local organizations have been notified of this court action, and the Attorney General is involved. Any member of the public can go and observe the proceedings. I have submitted a written response to the Court.
(Please note that the attached pdf is a draft document with blank spaces, but this hearing is scheduled to be heard as stated above.)
2. Public Hearing will be held on the merger between JFK and Hackensack. It will take place on Mischief Night, Oct. 30, 2017 at 6 PM at Metuchen High School.
Please see notice attached. Muhlenberg will be absorbed in this process. I have made 3 trips to Trenton to review the merger application documents, and I have not seen any documents concerning the status of the SED or the status of any healthcare services that will remain on the Muhlenberg campus. It is quite nebulous, and unless I see anything specific in writing, I will not believe that the citizens and residents are protected for the future.
According to the attached notice, the Public can made comments at the hearing or submit written testimony.
Thank you. Please feel free to pass this on to others. Nancy P
