Saturday, February 24: Black History Month event featuring: “James Weidman’s Spiritual Impressions Ensemble” CD Release Presentation;
Saturday April, 28, 2017: “Bass On Top”. This is the brain child of brother Dwight Lipscomb. We wanted to focus on the music of Stanley Clarke, we are hoping to focus on a number of the great bassist that have helped enrich this music from Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, James Jameson, Stanley Clarke, and many others. Our featured artist and music director for this outing will be Calvin X Jones.
Saturday, May 26: “Art of Praise”: Prayerfully this will be a combined effort between the NYPD and Arts In The Sanctuary, along with other churches youth ministries, presenting their gifts to God! We hope to include as many artistic disciplines as possible, complete with fellowship before and after. The goal is to do our part to fortify the Body of Christ, fellow-shipping and fortifying our relationships with others in our community, regardless of church affiliation!
Saturday, June16: “Juneteenth Celebration”. We will partner up with the “Friends of The Senior Center” to Celebrate & Educate all that are willing about “Juneteenth”. The specifics of this presentation are still being worked out, so expect an update in the near future.
Saturday, August 4: “Barbecue Jazz & Community Picnic/Cookout” in cooperation with the Men’s Fellowship; Brandon McCune, Matthew Clark, Keith Marshall, Jerome Mitchell (hopefully).
Saturday, October 27: “Order My Steps”: (This will hopefully become an annual Jazz & movement presentation.)
Saturday, December 22: “Sounds of The Season to Honor The Reason”: This event will prayerfully be a combination of the Jazz In The Sanctuary community youth choir, community adult choir, along with other Fine Arts ministries of the Shiloh Baptist Church (pending approval and agreement).
Nelson Holiday Tour: Nelson to visit various senior citizen homes, groups, and assisted living facilities. Prayerfully, some of our ensembles will be able to present!
