Second Friday Film Series February 9th
The First Unitarian Society is showing another great film, WHOSE STREETS?, on Friday, February 9, 2017 at 7 pm as February's selection in the Free Second Friday Film Series. WHOSE STREETS? is a startling documentary about the Ferguson uprising in the aftermath of the killing of Michael Brown.
The film appeared on lots of "best documentaries of 2017" lists. Just like every film in the Second Friday Series, WHOSE STREETS? will be followed by a community discussion; we try to pick films that provoke conversation. and this one will definitely do that. I attach a flyer with some more information.
"This wrenching street-level documentary tells the story of how Ferguson, Mo., became a near-war zone in the days after the killing of Michael Brown. It eschews voice-overs, police interviews and news footage to rely almost entirely on the words and stories of black residents who felt their neighborhood was being invaded." - NPR on Whose Streets? in their Favorite Movies of 2017.
