(duCret) Artist and teacher Marjorie Van Emburgh founded the School in 1926. In the early part of the twentieth century, Plainfield was a bustling cultural center. Because of its location students were able to receive an excellent education without the added expense of moving or commuting into Manhattan or Philadelphia. 92 years young

(LWVNJ) The League of Women Voters of New Jersey, originally known as the New Jersey League of Women Voters, was founded in Newark in April 1920 as a successor to the New Jersey Woman Suffrage Association. Its broad objectives were the advancement and clarification of women's political and legal status, promotion of legislation to protect women workers, reform of state governmental structure and institutions, social reform and support of world peace. 98 years young.
