We are honored to be hosting a terrific free film and justice event on June 30, 2018, The Pride and Purpose Film Festival sponsored by the Plainfield Town Council, the City of Plainfield and Mayor Adrian Mapp. This 9 hour one-day event will feature short films, justice workshops, a reception, and a premiere of a new film (with the the film maker and some performers in attendance.) I will send you a flyer as soon as the event program is finalized. The event, in honor of Gay Pride month will begin at 1 pm. First Unitarian is delighted to be part of the Plainfield Pride festivities for the second year.
On July 27, 2018 we will show Church Hurt with the film maker Onyx Keesha Monroe facilitating the event and discussion. Ms. Monroe, a Plainfield native, is the Executive Director of M.PoWer Arts, Inc., an arts and education non-profit. We will be looking to showcase Plainfield non-profits with our film events. So in addition to a great film and discussion, we will also be exploring what the arts look like in Plainfield. Look for a flyer soon!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at (908) 756-0750. If you have any suggestions for films you would like to see at First Unitarian in the future, please tell me. We are a place for good friends, great films and conversations that matter. See you at the movies.
