Rotary Club of the Plainfields

Our club was chartered on December 1, 1921 and, as such, is the oldest service club of the Plainfields.

We are men and women whose goal is to serve others and who have a willingness to work on various projects to achieve that goal. We represent and serve the communities of North Plainfield, Plainfield, and South Plainfield.

Be our guest at any weekly meeting at Giovanna's Restaurant, 1462 South Avenue, Plainfield, from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM. [Note: we meet at The Coffee Box, 1359 South Avenue, Plainfield on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and light breakfast.]

Many meetings include a program of interest with a local or area speaker presenting information on a wide variety of topics.

While our meeting schedule is weekly, members are not required to attend every meeting. Participation is the key to being a good Rotarian - that may mean more participation in club projects and events for some, and more weekly meeting attendance for others.

Browse through our website and learn more about us. Our Downloads area on the home page has more information about the Club and about membership, as does our Membership page.

If you think Rotary might be for you, learn more at the Membership in Rotary page. We'd love to have you join us as a guest at one of our meetings. If you are unable to join as a member, consider becoming one of our volunteers. Simply sign up for our e-newsletter and you'll hear all about our projects and activities.

Service Above Self - the motto of Rotary International - is the essence of the mission of our Club. We strive to serve others.

Membership in our Club is available to women and men who live or work in Plainfield, North Plainfield or South Plainfield and want to work together to serve others.

The Rotary Club of Plainfield-North Plainfield is a member club of Rotary International. We are the oldest service club in the Plainfields. Membership is available to leaders who live or work in the Plainfields and the surrounding communities.

Community Service is the opportunity Rotary clubs have to implement club projects and activities that improve life in the local community. We have held blood drives, business card exchanges, hosted Valentine's holiday songfests at senior housing.

  • We collect food for the needy, give away dictionaries to third grade students, grow fresh vegetables at the Giving Garden in Warren for the Star Fish Food Pantry in Plainfield.

  • We offer programs for youth, including a Track and Field Meet for middle school students, reading to nursery school children, and supporting our high school Interact Club.

  • We raise money for scholarships for high school seniors in our service area.

Every local project that we undertake falls under this Avenue of Service. Community Service is the core of our existence -- it is our reason to exist here in the Plainfields.
