What: Showcase for Exceptional Young Artists

When: Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 3:00 pm

Where: Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church Sanctuary

Are you ready for Today Sunday, February 24th?  This promises to be the Super Bowl of talented young pianists!  How can kids so young perform so well?  You must come and hear our Twentieth Annual Showcase for Exceptional Young Artists.  Every year I am more impressed than before!

We have not five, but six outstanding pianists this year:  Sarah Ouyang is a 14-year-old from Basking Ridge and also an accomplished cellist.  Maxwell Chen, age 13, our youngest performer, is from Short Hills and swims competitively.  Jasmine Meyer, age 15, plays flute and jazz piano as well as singing soprano at Mendham High School.  Joann Shi, also age 15, hails from Princeton and loves math as well playing for hospitals and retirement homes.  James Yang from Basking Ridge is yet another 15-year-old (was there something in the water that year?) and played a solo piano concerto in Italy at age 10.

And finally, Maria Kobin, at 16 is our oldest performer.  “Masha” had the good fortune to live and study in Paris for two years before settling in Basking Ridge.  All six of these young people are amazing; so do not miss this opportunity to hear the future of classical music!
